After many struggles with my Empeg, I feel it is finally in need of real repair. It has been buggy for the last couple years and has steadily gotten worse.

Now it will boot up but when it is finished it displays the list of songs (In now and next mode) but it is just frozen. No sound, no activity and none of the buttons will work. I can access the Hijack menu and have tried several Hijack reboots to no avail.

I even did a fresh install of the player software and removed Hijack but it is doing the same thing.

Any suggestions? Thanks for your help. You guys have always been there for me.

have you tried controlling it through the web interface, or perhaps with tony's face program?
maybe your buttons have just gone bad. excepting your knob presser

Now see if you can find a copy of that tune and figure out why it made the player lock up.

It's whatever tune was at the top of that Now and Next list.
