MX5 / Eunos Roadster / Miata?

I'm going to buy one shortly and am hoping to put the empeg in there, seeing as I can't easily get it put into my Lexus.

Does the MX5 (jap import) have a sub, or will I have to get one?

(<---- and anyone want to buy the car in my avitar?)

I know - already done a search and seen lots and lots of results.

Was hoping for a quick answer rather than having to trawl through that lot

I have the Rio along with Sony MP3 receiver in dash
MTX 4244 4 channel amp- for door speakers
Alpine 2 channel amp-bridged to sub
Infininity components in the door
8" JL Audio sub in the passenger wheel well

Have the Sony leading into the AUX in on the Rio

Just read my post noted above regarding proper grounding of the sled

..lots of road noise but fun with the top down!

actually thinking of installing a pre-amp to give me a bit more headroom for the system

They are all pretty much the same over the years..same engine..drivetrain

i have the '01 special edition which has 16 inch wheels (vs 15") and a 6 speed tranny (vs 5sp)

the car is tiny (My It's A Tiny Automobile-M I A T A) but about the most fun u can have out of driving.....

forget about it in the winter..i live in NJ and have had many white-knuckle commutes during snowy days....

Speed it governed at 120 mph (should be enough) and at least on my car the red-line is 7K, which is governed as well

i had driven a Porsche Boxter for about a month as a loaner from a friend (a really good friend!) and that car was FAST..dont expect this from the miata

but it doesnt cost 55K either....

i hear that by adding a turbo you can boos the HP from 145 up to 250+...now your talking!

Good luck on your hunt

Anyone tackled a Mk2.5 with the BOSE sound system fitted?

Guess main questions are

1) Places to locate the amp?
2) Can I use the BOSE speaker system, or best to rip out and install new door speakers?

I bypassed the entire Bose system by installing Infinity components in the doors and power amps in the trunk. However, if you find the correct wiring harness between the Rio and the leads for the Bose amp it should work. My daughter has a Mustang with a Mach sound system, which is similar in layout to the Bose, and it worked fine with the proper wiring harness (which provided line outs) Since the rio only has line outs this should not be a problem.

I should also note that I intalled an 8 inch JL Audio sub in an enclosure in the passenger root well. Takes up space but sounds great (have it hooked up to separate 2 channel amp bridged into 2 ohms!)

Good luck and let me know how it works out....

btw..as noted in my groaning above i cant get rid ot the ignition whine...let me know also if you have that problem and if you managed to get rid of it!

Right... another question

Has anyone wired up an empeg to a Eunos Roadster with the Mazda Sensory Surround Sound System in it? My car has got a pair of speakers in each of the headrests, as well as a speaker and a tweeter in the doors.

What's the best way to wire that little lot up?

I just baught a 2000 Miata SE. The one with the wood grain steering wheel and factory Bose system.

I'm happy with the sound and would like to use the bose as an amp. I plan on replacing the tape unit module with the empeg while leaving the cd and radio module in. My question is, where can I locate a good installer in the Los Angeles area who can help me do this installation? Thanks.
