Well it appears the my SO and I are Montréal bound for a few days in early October, start it all off with a John Mayer concert at a 2000 seater venue.

Looking for some suggestions for accommodation - something like a country inn rather then a bland chain hotel, good places to eat and must see attractions.

Not a country inn, but I can recommend Hotel Ruby Foo's. I have stayed there a couple times and have enjoyed the place. It is hotel with a oriental feel and I'm all about oriental stuff. It is not in downtown so there is plenty of parking and there is a metro station one block away. They also have high speed internet (not free) and generously sized rooms for the price with a desk and couch.
