Hi,

An unanswered question. Sometimes i get a wierd squeak between songs. It's not down to the MP3 because next time i play it, it's fine, and on a computer it's fine. It's just random, and not that frequent, but it can scare you when the volume it a bit high.

Any ideas ?

I've had this problem before and it was a badly crimped IDE cable. It's in the FAQ.

I need to update that entry to include squeaks and screeches. I'll go do that now.

Check both the end of the last mp3 and the beginning of the next...I had some with encoding problems that squeeked and I'd hit back to the beginning of the song and not hear it again. Turns out the problem was at the end of the previous song.

It's not the problem people are talking about here, but I've had similar things happen when the drive I used to rip had a really large read offset, compounded by an incorrect offset correction.
