Well, everything is set, and the first batch of Karma are on their way into the stores as of today. I don't know how fast they will get to "a store near you", but at least they are shipping!

And there was much rejoicing.

Cool! Now we can start waiting for the 40 gig.

This is great news. Is there any hope of a store having live display units? I'm rather fed up with the best buy/circuit city plastic models of expensive electronics. Of course, I've held one and played with it, so I'm not sure what I'm complaining about.

Called Best Buy here, they still say they dont have. I think the kids there are clueless to what they even have in stock if you ask me..
On a side note, i saw this really good deal on Compusa.com.. If i wasnt a loyal RIO/Empeg owner i would really consider this older model Ipod, its a hell of a deal!

They air shipped yesterday. Allow a couple of days for them to arrive direct at the distribution center, and then anything from 2 days to a week to show up on individual store shelves. Stock will be erratic for a few days and should then level out.

Is the Karma 40 the only other player to not yet ship, or are you guys still working on the Cali's, Chiba's, &c.?

I saw the others at circuit city today.

The only other player that hasn't shipped yet is Eigen, the "executive" version of Nitrus.

OK, I've looked at all the players on the rio website and can't find Eigen. How does it differ from Nitrus?
