As you all know, official support for the car players (all versions) was ended in May this year as a result of the SONICBlue bankruptcy and subsequent sale to D & M.
In agreement with the empeg team, I undertook to provide support on a paid, 3rd party basis to provide a repair and original spares service for owners.
In the months following the takeover of support, I have found it difficult to provide a proper service for owners, something which has bothered me greatly. My apologies to everyone who has written asking for spares and support and not had the kind of response you would have normally expected.
Unfortunately, due to an unexpected family crisis, I will not be able to provide you all with support in the near future, for a period of time that I am unable to determine at the moment.
This does not mean that you will be unable to obtain spares: I still have the spares here. What I would like to say is - could you please have a little patience, and consideration for my current problems for a while, possibly a month or so, and not push for answers and help whilst I get sorted out and back on a stable footing? I would really appreciate this: I have a lot of very good friends in this community, and I am not planning to exit the building leaving you all in the lurch: I merely need some time.
Your emails are not ignored: they do arrive here, and are saved pending a time where I will be able to deal with them in a satisfactory manner. Please continue to send thim in to record your needs here for a time in the near future where I can begin to help again.
I realise that people are encountering faults with their players that they would like to fix, and that it is inconvenient when your player is unserviceable. My apologies: as soon as I am able, I will return to service activities and try to help you out.
I will keep you posted as soon as I am able.

Amersfoort is the most talked about event of my, and Mrs. B's year, and your superlative organisation is what made it.
In the meantime, don't drop your Empegs - cushion them in cotton wool! - They are your most valuable possession!
God speed, I pray everything will come out right - the darkest hour is just before the dawn.
Kind Regards

Good luck Rob, I hope everything works out for you and your family.
And for anyone waiting for repairs, I can tell you thet it is well worth the wait, I have first hand experience of Rob's work. It hasn't faltered once since he touched it at the Amersfoot meet, and he'd had a few too !!! Cheers Rob
BTW what about letting someone help you lighten the load and deal with the spares seperatly. I for one would be more than willing to run a small mail order operation, on a non profit basis, to fulfill the community need for Empeg spares. Just an idea.
Cheers
Cris.

Rob, I'm with everyone else here in wishing you the best and hoping that things go well for you in the near future.
I'll update the FAQ entry about support to tell folks to expect to wait a while for an answer.

Ditto to what everyone else has said. Hope all returns to well soon for you.
May i make a suggestion? Have an auto reply with a short version of what you posted for those who may not see this post for some reason. When it comes to support emails... even an auto reply is better than no reply at all so that people know it's been received, at least that's been my experience doing support.

Which raises the point, which I'm sure counts for everybody, and Mrs.B was insistent that I made (She has a particular soft spot for Rob) if we can help you out in any small or large way just shout.

Hi there everyone.
Just a brief note to say I'm still here, and although things are not great, it's not the end of the world.
A very good friend of mine has woken me up by making sure I think the thoughts that other fathers in this world are thinking tonight:
"Please God, don't let the bombers come again tonight"
If I read this back, I am for the first time in my life beginning to realise what "life" really is.
Thanks for your good wishes. Somehow, this will get sorted out, and I will come back to life. I will be (occasionally) looking in to see how all my friends are doing, and I will draw strength from the things you are saying to each other - for you are all still alive, and that shows me the way forward.
See you all soon.
