I played with the Karma for a while, including updating the firmware, and then gave it to my wife to play with for a few days. She was initially pleased, then got rather upset. "Can't upload, keeps restarting".

After a little while we figured out it was her "weird" songs with those pesky non-US-ASCII tags in them Fetching a copy of the "unreleased" rmm lite jarfile from mschrag's site fixed her problem, and she's much happier now.

Reported. If you happen to still have a copy of that song unmodified, hang on to it. Someone from Cambridge might ask you for it so they can get their mitts on it for testing...

Hang on, when you were getting the failures, was that with an earlier RMML or with RMM? I assumed the former, but Tony entered a bug assuming it was the latter...

Yeah -- Sorry about that ... It's really hard to get a set of mp3, ogg, wav, and flac files that run the gamet of all the crazy test cases floating around out there. Turns out that I had a spelling error on the name of a particular character encoding (I had "UTF16-LE" instead of "UTF-16LE"), but I just don't have any tunes that acutally USED that character encoding, so I never caught it.

Incidentally, Mike Crowse just emailedl me that he's checked in that new RMML into the trunk, so that will be in the next firmware.

RMML. No Windows, no Rio Music Manager.

So just to tie a bow on this -- Your problems are fixed in the latest RMML, right?

Sorry about that! Didn't realize he meant RMML-only. I thought that RMML was solving a problem he had with RMM. Should teach me not to enter bug reports after midnight.

The one I had my wife download from your site 2 days ago did solve it.
