When I get in my car these days, I watch my empeg with anxiety. Two out of three times, after displaying the boot logo, I get the dreaded "Hard Disk Not Found Contact Support".

After a couple weeks of being frustrated by this, I discovered my magic knee. All I have to do is pull the Empeg from the sled and gently tap it against my magic knee 3 times while muttering various incantations about what I'll do to it if it doesn't start. After reinserting it in the sled, it powers up and plays music 100% of the time.

Occasionally I get lazy and just pull it and reinsert it into the sled and it works sometimes, but the magic knee never fails. So if anyone has an ailing empeg and would like me to touch it and heal it with my magic knee, feel free to sent it my way. I promise it will boot at least once upon return.

Break out the cable crimper, a small vise works too (for the IDE wire connectors) and/or soldering iron (for the IDE header) and save your knee from the abuse.

Oh I'm very familiar with diagnosing the problem. I just don't have the soldering skills or the wherewithal to pay for them at the moment to fix the IDE header. So for the time being, my magic knee will have to do.

It takes me 5 minutes to do a complete resoldier of the headers to fix this problem. ship it to me and i'll do it for free if you want

Does your magic knee fix other problems with empegs, too?
Maybe you can open a knee-support for empegs :-).
Does you knee depend only on empegs or is it a heal-the-world-knee?
