I love the Atlanta Traffic System... They have cameras everywhere, radar stations everywhere, and huge, huge CMS (Changeable Message Signs) over the interstates that tell you road conditions up ahead..

Today, on my way to work:

Man, I hate it when people start dropping turkeys on the roads, now..

Me.

ROFL! They need to show that episode on TVLand this weekend. I wish I could remember some of the lines Gordon Jump (Mr. Carlson) had in that episode... I know one was something like, "How were we supposed to know turkeys can't fly?" A classic, no doubt.

I know one was something like, "How were we supposed to know turkeys can't fly?" A classic, no doubt.

"As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly."

That episode of WKRP has been called the best single sitcom episode ever aired. I have to concur.

Speaking of which.. we had to stop the car and wait a few minutes for the local (newly arrived) wild turkeys to saunter off the highway tonight. One male and a harem of six or seven ladies.

Wild turkeys were reintroduced back to NJ a number of years ago. Now, you can see them in the most unusual places. Including the campus of the building I work in. It is always strange looking out of the glass and seeing wild turkeys looking back in at you!

Yes, it is. Which is kind of why it is so unusual to see live turkeys - while not "the big city", it is certainly industrial park suburbia...

I'm sure they used to show this on Sky One years ago. But I thought it had the bloke from Third Rock in it. But according to that episode guide it ran from 1978 to 82, now that can't be right.

edit

Aha, it turns out the series I watched was New WKRP in Cincinnati, and the bloke I was thinking of is French Stewart. Thankyou IMDB!
