ha ha! I saw that a few days ago, so funny. I was thinking what I would have done in the same situation, and as a reflex, I probably would have tried to get the can out of the car too. Mistake.

What is he going to do with that car? The only thing I can think of is crashing it and getting the insurance company to total it. What a bummer

Reading down in the thread a bit it seems the insurance might cover the damage. I hope so for his sake.

If you are a member of that forum and can post to it, you might suggest this .

It may not remove enamel paint (probably what was in the spray can) but it works on latex paint and any number of other hard-to-remove nasties.

I had a toolbox crush a spray paint can one time in my trunk of my old Datsun 510. All I heard coming to the stoplight was crunch, pow, then the overwhelming stench of paint took over. I left the trunk shut until the can finished its puking. The trunk of that car is probably still white speckled like my toolbox is...

Then there was the purple spray paint can that the ex GF left in the yard that i hit with the riding lawnmower. Kind of covered the nearby tree with purple paint Even got some on her ford truck I think.....
