Where's the HD icon gone? Is it permanantly gone, or have I missed a new setting?

It's invisible by default on the consumer image. You can turn it back on using the mechanism described here previously to turn it off. (You'll need to put developer on, change the file and then return to consumer though).

This will become settable from emplode at some point in the future.
