OK, I've been lying low for about a week. Finally got the *cool* new Jeep boot animation from the boot logo master. So, last night I finally get around to putting it on the empeg. I have done this before (many moons ago, pre v3) and swear Im not doing something right.

I tried downloading it via jemplode. No problem, it seems to go. When it boots, I get the factory logo, and then one frame of the jeep animated logo. So, I cleared it and tried again. Same.

So, I read the FAQ. I install the latest hijak. I download it using Tony's bootlogo editor. Same thing. I *MUST* be missing something or being bone-headed.

Someone throw me a bone here. V3a3, latest hijak (although same with or w/o hijak).

Oh, Also, since hijak my "sleep LED" has turned into a strobe light. Whats up with that? Instead of a smooth bright/dim, it basically flashes.

Any help appreciated!
Jeff

Sounds to me like your using the wrong upload tool.
Tony's is just for the static logo I belive.
What version of jemplode are you using?
There is an logo editor and animation editor under the tools menu.

I don't know about you new strobe effect though?
Thats a new one to me.

I downloaded the newest jemplode. I'll have to recheck the whole thing when I get home. Wonder what would happen if I uploaded the animation as a logo.. Proably what I did >Smack<

The strobe thing happened after the latest hijak, I didnt notice until driving at night and seeing this very short flash. I though I was nuts, and then i realized it was the empeg.

Thanks again for the animation

Sweet! I like the new one even better.

I got it to work, as you suspected, I'd gone and used the logo upload tool. DUH. Works fine now.

Edit: Hey, is there a way to have the empeg hold the last frame, or something, rather than displaying the "loading databases" and all that stuff after the animation ends?

THanks!

Jeff

You can always use the last frame in the animation as the static (I think your familiar with the process ). This will make the last frame seem to "hang" a bit longer but you will still get the player info at the end.
I don't know if there is a way in hijack's ini config to disable that info from displaying.

The strobe effect is your own doing.

It happens courtesy of Hijack, but ONLY if you tell it to do that with appropriate lines in config.ini, something like this:
[hijack]
standbyLED_on=1

Cheers

As skunk said, you can try changing the custom static logo to match the last frame of the boot animation but I'm not sure if that will change anything. Once the player app starts drawing on the screen, the boot logos are done, game over.

The only way to properly make the ending frame of an animation hang around on the screen is to make the moving part of the animation shorter, and leave it sitting there for more frames at the end.
