I just got to play with an interesting camera. It was a FLIR P60 ThermaCam. I shot this pic of my Empeg with it.

Yes very cool ! The little wisps from the rear are weird.

The Empeg was plugged in (but on pause if that matters) for about 24 hours.

The little whisps aren't what they appear to be. They are a Cat5 and power cable.

Now that is cool!

Interesting to see how hot the front panel gets.

I'm not sure how to read that... how hot was the surface temp?

The temp range on that shot was set to 99°(dark purple) - 64°(pinkish white). the cross-hair in the center of the screen reads at about 82.2°. The problem is that those measurements aren't accurate for those materials. Each material has to be compensated for (reflectivity among other things come into play). The blue areas on that spectrum represent something close to room temp.

The coolest thing was putting my hand on the table and removing it...when that spot on the table was photographed, I could see my hand-print. I could also see where a car was parked on the road...the heat left a signature on the pavement. This is so fun.

I remember seeing a show on this.. you could tell if someone was just in from the cold outdoors because their nose and ears would look almost black. You could tell which parked cars were just parked too. Neat!

°F, it tells you in the bottom right of the screen. I think it does measurements like °K as well...not sure.

Heh, just watched Predator 2 today.

I'd say about 60% of the time I am playing Alien vs Predator, I am seeing the world like that. It's quite a bit of fun.
