Well when we left this subject i was about to get the 7

Now i have it and today have driven it from my parents in the south west of scotland to here aberdeen the north east of scotland about a 180 mile trip.

So after having the car for two days what do i think, well it is not getting an empeg as 1st the empeg would probably eject its self from the dash every time i give the car full throttle in the first 3 gears 2nd there is no actual dash to put the empeg in 3rd i would never hear it over engine, transmission, tyre, exhaust and wind noise.

the handling is incredable i hit a slippy bit of road at low speed and it started to understeer, bit more power bueatiful 4 wheel drift and a few mil more throttle sideways what and incredable balance.

the acceleration is incredable pulling out to overtake 2 cars pulled out at about 50 mph doing almost 100 by the time i pulled infront of the second car. Accelerating away from a round about hard while being chased by a hopeful BMW 325 it just vanished in the mirror but i became sensible and setled into a nice 80mph cruise at which point the bmw had built enough steam to come past at a fare rate of knots.

So if it comes to amersfoort Rob needs to find a nice quite lump of tarmac and i can scare a few folk.

I think that you'll find people better qualified than I to answer this, but basically it started as a Lotus 7 kit car and you'll have seen one, if you saw the TV series, the Prisoner, with Patrick McGoohan.
Try this, or just google "Lotus 7".

Phew! That's it, I'm cancelling my Scottish motorhome holiday in May, I should just be safe on the Isle of Wight!

I assume it'd be pretty tough to get the plate "KAR 120C", huh?

Last time I saw the "KAR 120C" plate, it was on Caterham's press car for the Prisoner Limited Edition version. I guess that means they own it, or borrowed it for the occasion. I doubt they'd let it go easily!

KAR 120C

I tried a couple of the cherished number sites, just for fun - predictably no joy!
I have a pesonalised plate which my staff gave me for a 50th present, I believe it cost £2,000. One of my clients phoned me some years ago, to say that he had thought of me, when buying DB 1 for £40,000. My initials + 1 were on sale at the same auction and went for the same price.

Apparently KAR120C was the number on the original car used in The Prisoner (there were several different ones used, apparently), which was supplied by the then Lotus distributor Caterham Cars (who later bought the design license), owned by Graham Nearn. The number apparently stayed with Caterham cars, being fitted to a string of demonstrators, and is still retained by Graham Nearn.

I dread to think what kind of money would be required to persuade him to give it up !

Don't come here, we have nutters too

Some years ago, I had a letter published in the Times, to some approval, pointing out that the Humber Bridge, which serves no possible or profitable purpose where it is, with my ruler, seems to fit exactly from the Needles to the coast outside Yarmouth. Here, and tell me I'm wrong, it would serve the purpose of the Skye bridge replacing exhorbitant ferry charges. Since then it has emerged that the skye bridge is also exhorbitant!
I believe that I'm right in saying that the Southern Railway wanted to build a railway tunnel in the thirties from Portsmouth.

Amongst their varied careers, my gran and grandad were zoo keepers at Sandown Zoo for several years. My gran was born in Brading and went to school there.
