Hmm, just came across a story saying that S3 is going to be renaming themselves to Sonic Blue. Interesting name. So when are the "Sonic Blue" faceplates going to be released? :-)

Good lord. What's with these names? What focus groups are these people using? That's almost as bad as Bell Atlantic switching to Verizon. What the hell is a Verizon? I hate these dumb futuristic internet-sounding names that these companies think will attract customers.

Oh well, enough of me ranting. I suppose since the average computer buyer doesn't know who S3 is, there isn't much harm in changing their name...

If it is USA.Net, I'll have to go up to their headquarters and ask why, and maybe knock some sense into them. (Their building is a mile or so away from my house, and I used to work for their sister company years ago).

Trivia: MarchFirst was begat from USWeb/CKS (not USA.net). They're an e-business consultancy like Sapient, Scient, and others of that ilk.

My favorite guttural is "Covisint" -- thankfully, not being marketed to consumers.

That was hillarious! At first I thought it was serious, but it slowly got more and more ridiculous!

It took me a while, but I caught on about here:
