Hi All,

FINALLY got my wireless network up and running, so i can sync the empeg wirelessly

Now i'm enjoying the Hijack HTTP server by listening to the playlists though MP9. Cool !

I'm questioning whether i'm streaming the best way or if there is another way ? What does everyone use to stream to their player. You can assume i'll be using Media Player. I don't like Winamp.

If HTTP is the best way is there anything that can be done to make the interface a bit more "tasty", Also i'd probably like to remove everything but stream as audio will always be through a computer, or i'll use the player front interface if I happen to the same room.

I'm reasonably handy with HTML / ASP, so is it possible to get ot the pages and make them a bit prettier.

All advise welcome ...

Thanks

Yes, right here.

Hi,

I've given this a try and it's very good, but it is more about controlling the player than streaming.

I'm looking for an app with the following features
- Playlist streaming (currently available)
- Customisable interface (i.e. I can see the HTML)
- Search facilities for choosing what to stream eg. by Title, Artist, Source, Genre
- Download a song.

I'm quite happy to have a go at this, but i'd need a few pointers where to start really.

I could probably adapt Charcoal99's interface to take out the features I don't need, but as for searching, I have no clue :-(

I'm ok with SQL commands, HTML, ASP, CSS etc from a hobby point of view.

I only want to stream through Media Player 9 on all clients.

Any help, advice appreciated ... or just tell me i'm being crazy and approaching this completely the wrong way !!

If you set up appropriate Soup playlilst in jemplode you'd be pretty close to your goal using CG's or the default hijack web pages; not true searching, but close.

I;ve always wondered about setting up the Soup Playlists.

Is not a problem to keep updating them though, i.e. do I have to delete and re-create them pretty much every time I add something to the player ?

If you continue to use jemplode, they will be automatically updated with new additions & deletions. I don't think emplode will do the same.

I think Jemplode has features which do this for you automatically, assuming you always use Jemplode for your updating.
