Well, when it happened the first time I didn't think much of it. But now that my empeg had just locked up (hang) four times I wonder why. :)

I cannot replicate it, but when it happens, the only choice I have is to pull the unit out or turn off my engine to reboot.

The song will just be playing away, then it happens. Music stops, elapsed time of the song stops and the unit just sits there. Anyone have similar problems?

Is this happening on any one or two specific tracks? This is a known bug if it is, some corrupt MP3s hang for a couple seconds before going on to the next one in the playlist. Empeg has said this bug will be fixed when the new decoder is implemeted with v1.1. The best fix is the rerip the affected tracks.

I've been seeing the same for a few weeks now. It is occasionaly preceeded by "Hiccups", then it locks dead. The graphics keep turning, though.

I have been keeping Mike posted about this, but at the moment it's rather difficult to track.

Listen out for hiccups; if it does lock up, don't pull the unit straight away - rather, wait a few minutes to see if it recovers. It has recovered once on me (6 hangs since 1.01) and once I have been able to get it to change sources to the radio, and then back to the player whereupon it kept going without a hitch.
