I thought I read someplace that the MK2 would have an AM/FM tuner module. Is this true? I hope so...

The original plan was to have both AM and FM included in the Mark2 design. Since the tuner module would be an external part (a small box dangling down behind the Empeg sleeve inside the dashboard), then the interference problems with the AM tuner would be solved.

Unfortunately, they had trouble sourcing the proper parts in sufficient quantity for the AM part of the tuner module. So for now, it's still FM-only. (And by the way, the FM module is an optional add-on part, too. Works out well for the folks who plan to add the Empeg to an existing system and don't need the module.)

Rob said that if the AM parts become readily available later on, that they would consider making it an option.
