Here are some screen shots for your enjoyment. Once I get more time to play with it I'll write up a review. http://homepage.mac.com/macgod/PhotoAlbum2.html

Either the screen doesn't photograph too well (which is true) or you need to adjust your contrast setting a bit!

I have some digital screen dumps which I'll add to riocar.org now.

Thanks, Rob! Great screen shots.

Although I would like to point out that they show the weakness of using the CDDB for track data:

Of course, to the player's credit, it's pretty easy to edit the titles after-the-fact.

And, of course, the screen shots must have been from an older beta, because I'm sure we had nailed all of the UK spellings in all the screens by the final release of the software:

I think we ditched that texturing too, right?

I don't think CDDB can be blamed for that one - the screen dumps were mostly made with made up tags for copyright reasons.

I think the texture is the same, it just isn't so psychadelic on the actual hardware!

Well, you do have to admit the screen is nothing spectacular. It is the most disappointing feature I have seen so far on the HSX. It's not bad, it's just not that great.

I also crashed the unit by opening the CD drive and then closing it without putting in a CD. It just went to the "reading CD" screen for about 5 minutes so I had to hit the power button. I haven't be able to reproduce the crash however.

Yikes, I thought we nailed all instances of that kind of situation in testing.

This was fixed (I hope) in the screengrabs I sent over to the tech writer for the manual (Photoshop batch processing can be so useful). Just my lousy typing to blame.
