I got rioplay(0.29Alpha2 working with jreceiver 0.2.3 on a W2K box.
Great work Dave.

But I do miss a couple of things:

1. The displayserver hack that allowed me to 'see` and control whats happening on the Rio via a web page. (god,the lcd display is awful)

2. i don`t seem to be able to control the volume. the volume knob doesn`t do anything. I`m not using the speaker outputs on the rio, rather the line outputs to external amps.
Is it possible to get these working with the existing loads or is it something that is on the todo list?

If the Rio is plugged into an external source (like your amp) with it's RCA connectors, the volume control on the Rio is disabled...you have to use the external source's volume control to adust the levels.

Is it disabled because i'm using Rioplay?
This worked for me before when i was had the standard receiver.arf modified with the display and volume hack

The volume thing is a kernel hack which isn't in the default kernel supplied with the Rioplay receiver.arf file. As far as I know it should work if you replace my kernel with pne that has the volume hack added, though I haven't tried it. As for the displayserver thing, it's been mentioned before that it doesn't work. I haven't had a chance to look at it though. I'll try to get to that soon.

Hey Dave, any chance to sneak a small feature into rioplay's web interrface? doens't have to be anything fancy - having it accept a url for a shoutcast stream would help:)

Got the volume control working, must have been using the wrong receiver.arf file somewhow. i just untarred the zimage file from the receiver.arf file that i KNOW had the display and volume hacks contained within it. Replaced Dave`s zimage file and now i have Rioplay working with the volume controlled by the remote/pronto.

By the way, i love the enque feature. Thanks again Dave for Rioplay.
