Hi to all,

just one week ago I managed to get a Dell Audio Receiver through an auction from Ebay USA, three days ago the display suddenly began to fade out. The backlight still works properly, but the display shows only some fractions of a second after switch on something with contrast. The rest of the day the display remains almost clear, only sometimes you can see very light shadows. It is impossible to seriously control the unit with this display, as you cannot see anything.

The unit is Version 1.04, and this is what I did up to now:

- switched on and off to force a reboot,
- put away AC cable for one night to maybe discharge something
- de-installed and installed again the software
- opened the unit, took apart the fromt panel to look after obvious damages, did not find any

Unfortunately the Receiver is not sold officially in Germany, so I do not have any chance to get factory support at a reasonable price.

Any ideas anybody how to solve the problem.

Thanx in advanx

Frank

Yes, that is a hardware failure. You're not the only one to have experienced it.

Since you bought it on ebay, I'm guessing you don't have any recourse for making a warranty claim?
