Got the Scout, looks like empeg won't fit in the dash without cutting, which on a vintage type vehicle, not really an option.... So have a few things in mind but nothing that really seems like a great option. So check out the pics and if you have some ideas, I'd love to hear them.

Note: The top is coming off so where the exsisting stereo is, well that won't be there....

Why? It looks like the perfect aftermarket stereo mounting solution. Get rid of that and you get rid of the cool mount for your empeg. Why not just leave it in and drop the empeg in place of that din radio that's already there?

Perhaps an under the dash box of some sort below where the stock radio is? It looks like that grayish metal may have a flat bottom side that you could mount to. BTW, nice looking scout, I always liked those. Got pics of the outside?

Because there's no AC and that top makes it like a stove in there! But my biggest option is to get one of these with CB bars and come up with some sort of mounting box....

Thanks, too bad it drives like a moving van with 4 flat tires... honestly I love it, it's really is fun to drive, and also a great workout with no power steering!

I thought about some sort of mounting box underneath but unless it sits almost completly verticle theres not enough depth to the dash to really mount.

Too bad you want to go topless because like Tony said, that is a nice top and even nicer overhead setup. Not to mention that you will need to accommodate for noise while listening to your empeg while driving without a top.

You mentioned you do not want to cut any metal so the dash is completely out of the question and under the dash might prove difficult to operate and/or reach the empeg.

If you don't mind not being able to see the emgeg display in front of you but able to easily reach the buttons, why not mount it on the center console. It certainly looks big enough.
Your empeg would be facing the dash but can be easily controlled while your arm rests on the console. Besides, being that it's an after market console, if you mess up or decide you do not like, it you can always get another console.
