Everything seems to work fine, but at random the player will stop playing and switch off. The pulsing LED remains on and once I ask it to play again it does so immediately and continues as normal.

Any ideas? I'm running v2 (final) and Hijack (I forget which).

Are you using the Screen Blanker in HiJack by any chance? I stopped using this feature about 100 versions ago, so it might be fixed now, but occationally, the player would go into Standby like you describe.

I recall I used to use that feature when I used the unit at home. I'll take a look soon.

Thanks,

Phil

That appears to be the problem solved. Further testing on the way home will confirm.

Thanks!

Let us know if it works. I don't think we ever got a clear answer on why that happens.

Well thats it sorted. It was indeed the Hijack setting. Once I turned it off it didn't shut down again. Perhaps this could be an faq entry?

Thanks for that Brad

The Hijack screen blanker has a "deep sleep" mode it is supposed to enter after a (default, user-selectable) timeout of 30 minutes *after* blanking the screen.. But this is only supposed to be activated when the player is actually paused (not playing).

Bug fixed (I think). Hijack v411 will be out shortly.

I've got a problem which is like the reverse of yours Phil.

Over the last year or so I've been driving a lot of hire cars so I bought a SoundFeeder and used a plain cigarette lighter power lead. I usually connect everything up before I set off and but I don't necessarily start using it straight away so it sits there pulsing.

On a couple of occaisions I've tuned the radio, turned the SoundFeeder on and been greeted with audio. Upon pressing any button the display comes on and from the looks of it, the player has been on and playing for some time.

Anyone else seen this? I realise this probably isn't a common configuration.
