I picked up one of these when I was back in the US. The bag doesn't come with any padding but is large enough to add it.

I use a Case Logic bag from the days of pull out cd players. Well padded with a big adjustable strap and an extra pocket. Got it, brand new in box, about a year ago for less that five dollars on ebay. Much nicer that my buddy's flimsy empeg bag, that everyone pays too much for.

I use a bag that I found in Belize about 15 years ago. it is actually a camera bag complete with good foam padding all around tatally encased in the canvas covering. So it is water resistant on the outside and the inside and can take a drop without too much worry.

I guess that the only drawback/advantage is that it is a soft bag so if a car ran over it, i doubt it would be protected. But it is very practical.

Fun little soft cases like this are always nice. Thanks for the link.

Curious, how does the empeg pictured there not have the two front-to-back black streaks from the top tabs on the sled? (duh, because it's probably a spare)

I'm a firm believer in not actually installing any of my empeg's in my car.
