Does anyone have the 1.13 build (developer and consumer)? I can't use 2.0 - it does something weird on the equalizer to my Bose system in the Audi TT coupe. I saw 3.0a9, but not sure if I should risk it.

Can you describe what it does? I had no problems with 2.0 Final in my A6 with Bose. I just hacked into the Bose wiring, and am not using any other amps/speakers yet, so my setup may be very close to yours. There are others here with the same setup as well.

Not sure that it's the software at fault here, as the first place I installed my Empeg was an Audi TT 225 with Bose, and never had any problems regardless of which Empeg software version I was running. At the time, I used an Autoleads PC9-404 adapter to connect into the Bose system. It did need two pins moving around (front l/r moved rear l/r positions, I think), but it worked flawlessly.
You might want to check your install against the pinouts below, just to make sure you've got everything wired up okay:
BOSE Pinouts
Multi - pin connector I, 20 - pin 1- Line out, rear left 2- Line out, rear right 3- Audio frequency Ground 4- Line out, front left 5- Line out, front right 6- Switched positive supply 8- Clock signal for radio frequency display on instrument cluster 9- Data signal for radio frequency display on instrument cluster 10- Enable signal for radio frequency display on instrument cluster 11- Remote control (steering wheel) 13- Data - in signal for CD display on instrument cluster 14- Data - out signal for CD display on instrument cluster 15- Clock signal for CD display on instrument cluster 16- Permanent positive connection 17- Switched positive supply for CD changer 18- Ground connection for CD changer (CD audio frequencies, Ground) 19- Signal wire for left channel (CD audio frequencies, left) 20- Signal wire for right channel (CD audio frequencies, right)
Multi - pin connector II, 8 - pin, brown 3- Loudspeaker (+) front right 4- Loudspeaker (-) front right 5- Loudspeaker (+) front left 6- Loudspeaker (-) front left
Multi - pin connector III, 8 - pin, black 1- GALA (road speed signal) 2- Telephone muting 3- K diagnostic 4- Connection for switching on and off via ignition key (S contact), terminal 86s 5- Switched positive supply for power antenna 6- Switch illumination (terminal 58s) 7- Terminal 308- Ground (terminal 31)
Multi - pin connector IV, 10 - pin, red 1- Telephone muting 2- Terminal 15 (only on vehicles with navigation system) 3- Telephone (audio frequency +) 4- Telephone (audio frequency -) 5- Navigation system (audio frequency +) 6- Navigation system (audio frequency -) 7- Navigation system control wire 9- Display illumination (terminal 58d) 10- CD Ground (CD GND)
If I can find a copy of 1.13, I'll PM you.

Er, no, because you just made it up. There is no 1.13 build.
The last v1.x release was v1.03. The last v2.x release was v2.01, which is identical to v2.00, except for support for more memory. There's a v3alpha9 now out, as well.

I think he means the 1B13 release that eventually turned into V1.0 Final. 11 and 12 were pretty flakey, I seem to remember: also, 13 had it's problems. 1.03 was the final branch 1 release, or am I wrong? Anyway, A8 AEQ is the one he wants I suspect.

He also might be refering to 2.0 beta 13. Which, if that's what he wants, is still available at empeg.com in the support/downloads section under beta software.

No, this user has repeatedly asked about this beta before. It's 1B13 he wants. 1 and 2 Final are much more stable and capable: I still don't know why he keeps asking for the older Beta with a defective EQ and playlist problems.

My mistake. I need 1.03. There's something funky that happens if I use 2.0 with the Bose setup in my Audi. I wonder if 3.0a9 would make it go away.

Basically I can't get it to sound good in 2.0. The Empeg sounds beautiful in 1.03 (not 1.13 sorry) and when I upgrade to 2.0, it sounds flat and poor in my car. No amount of twiddling with the EQ fixes it.

I've now found the v1.03 stuff on an old disk at home. If you want it, please PM me with details of where to upload it/e-mail it.
I've created an empeg103.zip file which contains the consumer, developer, emplode and kernel hacks that match this release.
The zip file is approx. 10MB, so please make sure that your e-mail can cope with an attachment of this size, otherwise I guess I can ftp it somewhere.
Andy.

If 2.01 was supposed to be a stable release, why hasn't it been released "in the wild"? It's still 2.00 that is the latest release on the Empeg site. I guess you wouldn't be the correct one to ask, but... Stig

The only addition in 2.01 is the support for additional memory. If you have added memory, it might be of use. Of course, if you run a modern hijack it would be supported directly in the kernel as well.

Isn't there a different mp3 decoder in version 1 than version 2? If he is picky he can probably hear the difference. It may just need some equalizer tweaks. I'd also double check all the settings to make sure that one of the audio settings didn't take on some weird value in the process of the upgrade.

I few people, me included, also had a problem when they first installed 2.0
The equalizer settings got corrupted, leading to a odd sound until they were reset. Sounds like he has played with the equalizer settings though, so that can't be it.
