Not quite what you were looking for, but it may open your ears to something new. The track listings reveal the artists names, if you can keep a good count.

The Prodigy and Chemical Brothers are often classified as "Electronica" or more accurately "Big Beat".
You might want to check out other mainstream Big Beat bands such as:
The Crystal Method
Fatboy Slim
Daft Punk
Uberzone
Propellerheads
Wiseguys
Junkie XL
Death In Vegas
Lo-Fidelity Allstars

While not really techno (more industrial), check out Funker Vogt.
You probably would also like Lords of Acid. They're classified under 'music you'd not play at any wedding'.
I'll second Paul's mixes.

Though it stretches the "Techno" label, I'd suggest you look into some Goa Trance. A good band to start with is Infected Mushroom. Another is Dark Soho, though they have a bit harder feel. There's also Mumbo Jumbo and, with my vote for best band name ever, Growling Mad Scientists. If you want to find stuff by any of them, or other Goa-style groups, check out Psyshop . Good stuff, but be careful: some of it tends to cause my gas pedal to malfunction, resulting in horribly increased rates of speed. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Some good choices in there. I picked up some Infected Mushroom after hearing about them in the Desert Island top 10/Bombshelter top 20 thread a while back, and haven't been disappointed. I later found out about GMS (and Shpongle) by wandering through some random stranger's P2P offerings to see what other music is in the collections of people who listen to Infected Mushroom.

I third the recommendation for Infected Mushroom. The one single I have of theirs is refreshingly varied, using textures that I don't often hear and changing it up in interesting ways.
Along the lines of "interesting" techno, I'll highly recommend BT (Brian Transeau). Alot of good stuff has come from that guy, including his recent work with DJ Tiesto. But maybe he's a little off the "big beat" track.
Did "Basement Jaxx" get a mention? They are drop some pretty big beats, are pretty mainstream, yet can be pretty quirky and interesting.
And as a stretch, could Rob Zombie be mentioned? I remember his contribution to the Matrix Soundtrack was pretty accessible and huge. Check out the Matrix Soundtrack for some others (though I haven't heard it in years, so I forget what's there).

Oh yeah, Bassment Jaxx! How could I have forgotten! Moby's "Play" is a standard too.

If you'd like to get a fairly large list of music similar to Infected Mushroom, let me know.

Semi-similar to Prodigy or the Chemical Brothers, in order of amount on my Empeg:
The Crystal Method (you will like this, get Vegas first) Orbital (less hard than the Chemical Brothers, but great) Underworld (kind of like Orbital, get the later stuff.. early stuff is 80's synth, kinda) Apollo 440 (I also like their James remix of Sit Down) Goldfrapp (beautiful female voice as lead, she's pretty much the band) Royksopp (almost relaxing techno) Fluke (harder, listen to Atom Bomb on the Saint soundtrack to see what they are like) The Propellerheads (the best James Bond remix ever: On Her Majesty's Secret Service) Boards Of Canada (between Orbital and the Crystal Method, kinda) Daft Punk (synth-techno)

How could I have forgotten Orbital?
Goldfrapp is excellent, but their earlier stuff is more Massive Attackish and the later stuff is more um.. "pop" along the lines of Fischerspooner.

They once asked me to join their tour as lighting engineer after a gig at my university way in '95. Unfortunately with finals around the corner I declined - I'm sure it would have been a lot of fun.
My favorite of theirs is still the early Liquid Cool, that was released as remixes on 2CDs:

Virtually impossible to find now - I paid about $35 for them on ebay a couple of years ago.

Several good lists, but I'll add Kraftwerk, and Psykosonic (older stuff is more techno, newer is more sythpop) (also not to be confused with semisonic)

Kraftwerk is WAY old school. I thought I was the only one that knew about Psychsonic. WaxTrax! f'd up an order I placed once so they made it up to me by tossing in a bunch of Psychsonic CDs.

I have to admit I have a Psykosonik album or two around, but still.... Somehow it just never hit me right. Kind of like some record exec read Neuromancer and thought "We need to make a boy band, but with lyrics about stuff like this!" Still fun music though.

Not quite what you were looking for, but it may open your ears to something new. The track listings reveal the artists names, if you can keep a good count.
I'll sit down and work out the intro and outro times on all the songs some day - sooner if people want it (hint: ask me).
I don't claim to have a compete cross-section of 'techno' there - I'm still gradually accreting breakbeat, drum and bass, and industrial. But I do think that you may find it easiest to just download some or all of mixes and pick what you like. It's not like it costs you anything (unless you have a slow connection... ) so you can discard those you don't like and be none the worse off .
It might not serve as a good definition of 'Techno', but you can have a look at most of my collection at Discogs. I say 'most' because I'm still waiting for a lot of the Australian CDs I've got to be moderated. I've got 9 pending and about 25 in draft mode waiting for pending slots to become available, and about another 10 or 20 that I still haven't drafted up. I can heartily reccommend Discogs to anyone interested in virtually anything Electronic (or Hip Hop), as much for the Insta-Sharable-Web-Discography above as its precision and detail.
And, of course, I always like to hear what people think of my mixes (hint hint!).
Have fun,
Paul
