Empeg has 2.00beta12 software. Emplode is 2.00beta12. usb driver is rioxdrv.sys. Windows XP SP1, packard bell laptop with no lan or serial. Emplode was finding the empeg then was trying to connect but it fails to initilise (excuse spelling), now the empeg is found but comes up with "player does not appear to be connected". This is the first time i have tried to connect the empeg to this computer, before i was using my older computer (now in the bin) which was using w2k pro and connected fine so i am sure its not the empeg itself but must be the software i have on the computer. I am selling the empeg and so trying to get my music on the new computer as i dont have it anywhere else (didnt need to). A quick reply would be very apprieciated as i need to mail the unit soon. Thanks.

The first step is to upgrade to 2.0 final (both the player and the emplode software), and install the correct USB driver that came with 2.0 final Emplode (you must manually put it in place, running setup is not enough). Beta 12 did not work with Windows XP on USB. Details here.

Also, if you were running Beta 11 for any length of time, make sure that this didn't happen.
