so, I pulled the empeg out of it's box to prepare for it's second coming.

Slapped a new 60gig drive along with a 30 gig, built the drives, Updated to 3.0-8, dropped the newest version of Hijack on it, and everytime I hit the lavatory visual it gets stuck in the loop, being that I haven't messed with it in a while my skills are rusty, so rather then mess with the shell, I've just been re-installing 2.0 then upgrading it to resolve, done that twice... And I always end up stupidly messing around and getting it stuck again.

Wasn't Hijack supposed to at least make it boot properly when it locks like that?

Try 413? Works fine on mine (2.00 final and 3.00alpha8).

The v3alpha software releases have a very buggy Lavatory Floor visual, that usually (always?) crashes the empeg s/w. Hijack (last dozen versions or so) checks for Lavatory Floor at startup, and increments to the NEXT visual if found, to (hopefully) prevent getting stuck in an endless crash loop.

Do you see anything different from this?

Oh wait, I just tried it.. manually selected Lavatory Floor, and now it's stuck.. Standby for v415, if I can fix it!

EDIT2: No, when all else fails, it still recovers on the next boot for me. Much better than without Hijack --> requires a re-install of player s/w that way!

Thanks.

It always just boots back to lavatory... never increments...

Edit: Nevermind! Why is it crap just works after you write up a post about it? Nevermind, now hijack is incrementing the visuals

Yeah, there's something funny going on there. It DOES recover, eventually (but only if Hijack is installed). But not always immediately, it seems. Most puzzling!

Cheers

Okay, I figured this one out (finally!)

Hijack was only fixing the visuals when in player (DSP) mode, not when in AUX, FM, or AM modes.

Now fixed in v416, to be released shortly. Recommended upgrade for EVERYONE using (or potentially using someday) v3alpha8.

Cheers
