I'm looking for the 512mb or 1gb version of this for my girlfriend who would LOVE the pink version but all I can seem to find is black and white even though it says 8 colours available.

If I got a US one from Amazon would the FM tuner work here in the UK?

If yes could someone in US order for me and ship it over to me in time for 14th Feb?

I'm not 100% sure but, the channel spacing and frequency band used for FM should be fine. I know in the states the AM channel spacing is 10kHz instead of 9kHz that's used over here, so that might cause problems if you have AM reception although my little cheap MP3 player is FM only.

For reference I know in Japan the band used for FM radio is lower down so the stereo in a grey import won't tune past Radio 1.

I thought the FM freq. range in the US and Europe were the same, but the US tunes in .2MHz increments (only odd tenths such as 92.3, 92.5, etc.) and Europe did .1MHz increments.

Anyway, I'm up to the task of getting it for you. Send me the link via PM of the one you want.

512MB Pink is available here and claims it's in stock. I have a contact over there, so I can call on Monday to be sure. I would have to pay NY sales tax, but they're also 1 shipping day away, so expedited shipping charges wouldn't be needed.

Yes, 87.5-108 MHz range, 100kHz increments in Europe (although most, if not all of tuners I have scan in 50kHz increments - probably to accomodate for inaccuracy in their own oscilator). I have seen an ancient Russian receiver where FM went some 20MHz lower, into one of the bands used for TV here.

I thought that would be the case, Japan was the only one I know isn't, the tuning increments thing shouldn't be a problem, every station I can think ends in an even number ie 97.6, 102.0 etc. Although I bet that player tunes in .1mHz increments too.

I don't know about the Muvo, but on the Rio players, the frequency range and tuning increments and stuff are settable in software. I would imagine that the Muvo's the same because it's so much easier to do it that way than configuring separate players for each region.
