I just attempted to upgrade to tRio 1.6. I get the below error message when running trio.bat.

I think there is an issue with Java Runtime Environment 1.5. Maybe try using 1.4.2? Also, have you edited trio.xml to correctly identify the path of JRE?

Heh. Gotta love Java. Write once, crash anywhere.

I have tried JRE 1.4.2 and 1.5. What entry in the xml file do I need to edit? I changed the path to Java in the trio.bat file, that is the only place I could find to set the path. The xml file just seems to be settings for the Rio menus.

Hi,

Sorry for not responding sooner - I've been away skiing.

tRio definately doesn't work with java 1.5. Are you getting exactly the same error with java 1.4? From your 1st posting, I'd guess that you've haven't set JAVA_HOME quite right in trio.bat. There aren't any settings in trio.xml that are relevant.

If you're still struggling, please attach your trio.bat and log files and I'll have a look. PM me if the files are too large.

Cheers
Paul

Paul,

I got it working, it was a java home variable problem.

Actually I now have another problem. I get the below error, while trying to play.

Unexpected error processing request

Exception: trio.player.TRioPlayerServerException
Message: SSDP Discovery of JReceiver Server failed. Please check that JReceiver is running. Otherwise see the troubleshooting section of the install instructions for help with this problem.

Nested Cause 1
Exception: java.net.SocketTimeoutException
Message: Receive timed out

I have tried changing the broadcast address as the troubleshooting info suggests, but the result is the same.

I also niticed that jreceiver has a rio receiver plugin available, do I need to install that?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Jamy

Jamy,

Yes, the rio receiver plug-in is required. If this still doesn't work then you can hard-code your jreceiver url into trio.xml, eg: <server name="jrec" ... url="http://localhost:8080" .../>.

Well hardcoding fixed that problem, but now I get another error.

Unexpected error processing request

Message: Error connecting to JReceiver Server. Please check that JReceiver is running and properly configured.

Nested Cause 1
Exception: jreceiver.common.rpc.RpcException

Assuming that you have installed the plug-in (it is required), have you set the username/password correctly in trio.xml?

Otherwise, is anything showing up in the jreceiver logs?

The plugin link takes me to Rioboot. I thought there was a way to get tRio working with arm and Jrec at the same time.

Is that no longer the case?

You should still be able to use them both together no problem. So that arm provides the dhcp/nfs and jrec serves the music.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say the link is taking you to Rioboot. Please elaborate.

Are you sure about that? When I tried it there was a conflict of some sort. SSDP maybe?

I have installed the jrec_rio.war file, I am stil getting an error.
I have no idea what the problem is now.

My error shows:

Unexpected error processing request

Exception: trio.player.TRioPlayerServerException
Message: Error connecting to JReceiver Server. Please check that JReceiver is running and properly configured.

Nested Cause 1
Exception: jreceiver.common.rpc.RpcException

Have to set up your jreceiver user id and password correctly (as per "Set up JReceiver User" and "Edit config file" at http://triot.sourceforge.net/inst-content.htm#jrecuser ).

Otherwise, is anything showing in the jreceiver log files?

I have finally gotten it to work. I had to set the jreceiver entry in the trio.xml file to the ip address of my machine, it seems trio didn't like 127.0.0.1.
