Does anyone know why this would happen? I uploaded about 15 gig to my player (USB), and emplode crapped out when it was on the building music databases section, said it timed out, then the infamous 'have to shut this app down' thing (Windows XP Pro)
Player is MK2A (I think)
Version is 2.00

When I put power to the player, it just sits on the building music databases. There is a total of about 20 Gig of tunes on the player. It has ran like this for over two hours. Does it just need more time?
Any suggestions?

Your probobly gonna need to give us a serial log to know for sure whats going on. May also check out this faq and see if it helps any..

Emplode often times out for no reason; if you had simply ignored that and waited, then all would be well.

But now, the long delay is probably the player trying to do a filesystem check (improperly shut down during sync), followed by a database rebuild. The other reply in this thread points you to the FAQ entries for recovering from this.

Since the FAQ is not available at the time of this posting, can someone tell me what is the command to get to place where I can enter the commands via hyperterming thru the serial cable ? I can get to the player and see the serial log, but dont rmember how to enter a command...
