I have been watching the series again over the past week. This prompted me to visit the web site where I discovered the following picture:



The caption for the picture reads:

Now does anyone else see something odd between the picture and the caption?

No, it's the correct route. They pushed north to the Dutch border after being withdrawn from active duty after their disastrous pre- D-Day drops. They were meant to re-group and re-supply for a later drop into Market Garden which didn't happen: they ended up in Belgium in foxholes and lost a lot of men by attrition.

I would recommend the Steven Ambrose book that forms the basis of the series - an excellent read which details their entire operational history through to withdrawal at the end of the war.

If you are referring to the rather dubious outline of the drawing, I can only say you have FAR too much time on your hands... (sorry I had to drop that one in)

I am referring to the map drawing, but you still haven't pinpointed what I was getting at. Perhaps Meatballman would recognize the error?

Yeah...I see the problem...That's not Georgia. If you go by that map they left from Darlington, South Carolina.

Which wouldn't have been a big deal if they hadn't labeled it "Georgia".

Or that England is apparently larger than the entire eastern US? Sure, but at least they didn't label them wrong.
