No, it's the correct route. They pushed north to the Dutch border after being withdrawn from active duty after their disastrous pre- D-Day drops. They were meant to re-group and re-supply for a later drop into Market Garden which didn't happen: they ended up in Belgium in foxholes and lost a lot of men by attrition.
I would recommend the Steven Ambrose book that forms the basis of the series - an excellent read which details their entire operational history through to withdrawal at the end of the war.
