Is there any wat to get Quake and/or Quake 2 to run on XP? In fact any games that refuse to work like the original Aliens V Predator?

For Quake 1, the only time I'm interested in playing it, is when it's for deathmatch at a LAN party. In that instance, I use one of the QuakeWorld ports, QuakeForge. It allows me to run a QuakeWorld client and server on the same machine, so that it's a lot like a Listen server.
