I want to convert video files (vob, mpeg1/2 etc) to Divx format. I tried the Divx Converter but the properties UI seems non-existant. I'd like a utility like TmpEnc but for Divx. So what do you all use?

I'm not sure about VOB files, but for other standard video types (mpeg1/2) you can use TMPGEnc. With Divx installed, in TMPGEnc, go to File, Output to File, AVI file, then under Video, hit the settings button. There you should be able to select Divx, and customize the Divx output settings.

You can also use Dr. DivX for pretty painless conversions. There's even an unsupported patch (from the DivX people) that lets you use it with the new DivX 6.
