Finally.
I've been using it for a little bit now, and I'm sure it'll now become my main (probably only) RSS reader.
OK, one thing it needs is a way to search the feeds you have set. Seems odd that a Google product wouldn't have a search feature. Maybe that's in the works.

I also like the Google Personalized Page with its little RSS feed component. That's sure to be my first and only RSS reader. Might as well get my news on my home page instead of using a separate program.

Yeah, I use that too. It can get cluttered and hard to manage with as many feeds as I read on a regular basis, so the purpose built RSS reader is a welcome expansion on that.

I'm curious about RSS usage patterns, having never used it. Simply glance at the headlines as you're sipping your morning coffee and after lunch? Or do you keep it open all day, checking constantly? Do some feeds update constantly while some may update once a week or so?
How do you read so many feeds? Is there any way to organize ALL of those headings in your reader? Do you also watch blogs too? Primarily technical and business blogs, or also personal rambling blogs too?
I love the idea of content concentration and tarteged delivery, I'm just trying to wrap my mind around it.

I finally started giving RSS a real chance about a month ago, using NetNewsWire on my Powerbook... and I'm mostly sold. I used to incesenctly go to websites and refresh them multiple times daily, but now I just open NetNewsWire either once in the AM or PM, and just go down the list, clicking links that I want to read, which will pop them open in a tab in the built in browser. Then I go through the tabs, and if I want to add the URL to del.icio.us, I can just click a button and it's there.
It's actually streamlined my web browsing a LOT. The only bad thing is that it takes a LONG time to go through it all, sometimes an hour or more, instead of sort of spreading it out over the day. The good thing is that it's helped me stop randomly clicking open my web browser as a distraction to procrastinate, since I know I've already read everything I wanna read.

That's interesting. Consolidation is good.
My realization of RSS is giving me many offshoot ideas. If only I had some venture capital.........

The key is to find a good RSS reader. I imported all of my links to the Google reader and it doesn't work for me at all. It'll be good if I'm not around my Powerbook, but otherwise it's interface is super limiting. I tried a bunch before I settled on NetNewsWire, it's got it all.

I actually use the RSS reader in Thunderbird, which treats new RSS items pretty much exactly like an email message, and each feed like a folder. It's much faster than a website aggregator, and if a item is double-clicked it is opened in the browser.

A little late on this but I use SharpReader, I think Roger mentioned it in a post once. I've been using it for about a year, and I couldn't keep up without it.
