Yeah, I'd be up for it again. Had a good time a few years ago with the bunch that met up at Friday's in Woburn (I think that's where we were.)

So, I'm in 100%. Any ideas of where to go? I'm sorry I can't suggest much since I live about 4 hours away. I have been to the P.F. Chang's in Boston, but you can get that anywhere and there is no free parking. I always wanted to try Fire + Ice since I'm a big fan of all you can eat. Based on that map, it doesn't look like parking will be any easier.

Here's some recommendations from my friend who lived in Boston. Too bad we can't come up and hang out.
Vinnie Testa's - Italian - on Boylston St across from the Prudential
Brassarie Jo - on the other side of the Prudential between the Marriott and Copley Place Mall
King Fish Market - down by Fanuiel Hall

I'm thinking we could park anywhere random, then meet up at Fanuiel Hall. There are many good restaurants around there. Also, those of us staying at the airport will be able to take the water ferry :-)
I'll research some more and post back later - just setting out to Boston now.

I used to spend a lot of time in Boston for business and have some favorites. The best Chinese food on the planet is at Xiao Xiao (I'm not sure I'm spelling it correctly, its pronounced Chow Chow) which is in Chinatown. I recommend the sizzling beef and the salted-spicy shrimp in shell. Fabulous, fresh, yummy food. I love to go to the Green Dragon (bar) in the North End area. This is on the Freedom Walk and was supposedly the secret hideout of the Founding Fathers. You can go have a beer where Benjamin Franklin did. Over fairly close to Faniuel Hall is a fantastic Irish bar called the Black Rose. It is also a steak & seafood restaurant, but I've never eaten there. They usually have live Irish folk music at night. There is a great seafood restaurant on the wharf, which is in one of the Founding Father's wharehouse buildings. It's near the city aquarium. I forget the name and the details, but maybe someone else will remember. Take the MTA to get around -- the first subway in the US, and one of the very first world-wide. Look for mice on the tracks at the stop, its crawling with them. Jim

As far as Boston goes, I wish I could join you!
I really like that town.
Have a great time at Fanuiel, uh, Faniel, uh, Fanyule, uh, at The Hall.
P.S. Maybe you can get some Freedom Fries near the Freedom Trail.
Oh, I guess that's maybe two different uses of the word....

How about we meet up at the entrance to Quincy Market at 6:30 and go search for a restaurant from there?

I'm still interested in meeting up with you guys, though it turns out I have to work during the day tomorrow. I should be able to make into Boston by about 6:30-7:00p (coming from Portland, Me). Any chance I can get someone to give me a call tomorrow afternoon so I can find you guys?

Sounds like a plan.
From memory there is an entrance with four huge stone pillars and a gold "Quincy Market" sign above it. This may actually be the entrance to the Collonade food hall. Let's meet there at 6:30 (there are various parking structures nearby such as 75 State Street Garage.
I'm not a good phone contact as many US mobiles can't call international - perhaps someone more local can volunteer for that?
Recognising us should be easy - Patrick is the mad professor and I'm the big bloke freezing in a Hawaiian shirt (never did get the hang of packing for somewhere which isn't California).

Wish I had seen this earlier, I would have liked to meet you Rob V...oh well!. I had fun with you kids at Friday's a few years ago and seeing as I live in Boston, that would have been pretty nice. Unfortunately I have unbreakable plans tonight. Have fun guys! (and good luck parking!!)

Well, we all had a great time. Of course, it was only Rob V, Patrick, and myself. We waited in the cold for other geeks to show-up for a couple minutes, then went to Plaza III for dinner.
I had the waiter take a picture with my camera. Unfortunately, my CF card became corrupt for some awesome reason. I'm trying to recover it now, but all attempts so far haven't worked. I got the exif thumbnail from the image, so here it is:
