I have been trying out a great program called Profimail on my Pocket PC and was trying to reinstall it on my sd card. When i did that I tried to transfer the mail that was already on my pda to the storage card. It tried to transfer for several minutes and then it locked up. Now after that everything that was on my 1gb sd card looked like it was gone. However, when i put the card in my sd card reader, it says that I have the same amount of data already on my card so it seems that it is hidden and I can't access it. How can i fix this (without reformatting the card.) Also, I noticed it is a FAT storage card and another one I have that still works says FAT32..is that part of the problem?

I'd try just about any data recovery software on it. I've heard plety of sucess stories with flash cards, as they don't have any moving parts to actually break.

i just reformatted the thing...does anyone know what the fastest SD cards are? i tested the speed of mine, and it is pretty slow, which is frustrating when you are trying to save email to it....it takes forever.

Robgalbraith.com tests a few of them, if you go into the CF database and look for the cameras that also take SD.

Flash prices have fallen through the floor this week, I'm not sure if I should buy some or see if they go any lower.

The high speed SD cards usually say so on the packaging. At least, that's the way it was when I was in Best Buy looking at cards for my digital camera.

Well, high speed is relative. Some are faster than others. Rob Galbraith's database tests the actual cards to let you know exactly what you're paying for. Just like processors, I like to buy one or two steps below top of the line - it's not worth paying twice as much for that extra 50kb a seccond.

I hope you needed it that day. Accessory items are the worst thing to buy at best buy.
