Hijack v445 is now available.
New in this version:
Several new "virtual" button codes have been added. These don't exist on the remotes (thus, the term "virtual"), but they can easily be assigned to buttons using Hijack's ir_translate functionality. Some of these functions are also now on the revamped
PopUp0 menu.
- SaveSrc -- Save current sound source internally (AM,FM,PCM,AUX).
- SaveAux -- Save current source, and then switch to AUX.
- RestoreSrc -- Switch back to saved sound source.
These new entries may be most useful when mapped to the
extmute_on and
extmute_off functions, like this (in config.ini):

extmute_on=SaveAux
extmute_off=RestoreSrc
As a bonus effect of implementing the above functionality, we also now have:
- AM -- Switch to AM Radio.
- FM -- Switch to FM Radio.
And finally, the number of choices in the built-in
Popup0 menu (short-button press, if enabled) has been expanded from 8 to
16. This makes many more functions usable without needing a remote control.
Side-Effects: Your existing Hijack
Knob Press Redefinition settings (home/car) will need to be reset for use with this release, from the Hijack Menu. Also, I am accepting suggestions for further additions to that menu, since it now has an extra 8 unused slots..
