I just reformatted the player using the upgrade. It hangs on 'finding pump' and fails with 'Couldn't find pump error 0x20'

I ran the developer upgrade and it seemed to take.

However, it hangs at the boot screen and if i hyperterminal in I get tons and tons of this:

EXT2-fs error (device ide0(3,4)): ext2_free_blocks: Freeing blocks not in datazo
ne - block = 2946096496, count = 1
Remounting filesystem read-only
Kernel panic: EXT2-fs panic (device ide0(3,4)): load_block_bitmap: block_group >
= groups_count - block_group = 524287, groups_count = 4757

Any ideas?

Can you post a full boot log? You used the upgrader or builder? The upgrader should have only loaded software, not formatted any partitions. Is this a new drive?

No, it's an old drive.

Here's the story.

I just sold the player so I was going to wipe out all the mp3s on it. My current PC doesn't have a serial port so I figured I'll use emplode to delete all the mp3s.

I delete 'em all and get a few sync errors (I was ripping mp3s and stuff at the same time so I figured it might've been resource problem.)

Then my PC locked up. I rebooted and the player was hanging at the logo. So I figured I'll reformat it. I run the disk builder and it runs fine until it gets to 'Finding pump (preparing first hard disk)'

It runs through this, and then says 'Couldn't find pump - error occured during stage 0x20'

I can still apply the upgrade after this, and it seems to take, but it will either hang at the empeg logo or at 'Building music database'

Here's a complete boot log. This is after I tried the version 3 image just to see if it would change.

I think the endpoint stalls are because I tried to connect with emplode, just to see if it would work.

I'm going to go back to 2-developer, just as a test.

Mmm.. looks like you were using USB for the emplode connection,, USB has issues with windows.

Cheers
