I have Excel installed on my computer at work, and at home. I believe they are the same version.

At work, I can highlight a group of cells, then hold the Ctrl key and highlight other groups of cells in other parts of the spreadsheet. I can then select the "Merge Cells" icon, and all of the groups I highlighted will merge.

At home, I can do exactly the same thing... except that I am only allowed to merge one group of cells at a time.

Is this a setup setting? Am I hallucinating? What gives?

Do you have any kind of autofiltering on?

While you may be hallucinating, this does work on my excel 97.

Oddly, it didn't work when I hit the 'merge cells' button on the toolbar, but did work with the right clack menu.
