Here's a log from when it doesn't boot. What looks likely here? Hopefully it's something simple (drive cable). The IDE header seems to be in place.

Mmm... almost as if the drive is nearly dead -- sometimes it spins up, sometimes it doesn't.
But then there's also the CS4231A failure...

We tried a new drive today and the empeg does the same thing, so that's probably not it.

The drive cable (original) looks OK, but I will change it tomorrow.
