Does anyone know what the red LED near to the Strongarm indicates? If it doesn't light there is obviously something wrong but what exactly, assuming the processor is getting power?

Thanks,
Stu

I believe it has something to do with the IR transmitter in the empeg (not used). That LED is driven from the output of one of the LXV04 inverter chips, and the corresponding input to that inverter is driven by GPIO-23 from the StrongArm.

To verify this, I just hacked Hijack on a player here, and had it blink the LED (GPIO-23) on and off five times at boot -- worked like a charm.

So.. the LED serves as an indication that the software was able to boot up and initialize the GPIO ports.
