I just wanted to make a quick post. I recently ordered and installed Black Buttons from Greenlights on one of my players. The button quality was incredible and exceeded my expectations ten-fold. Additionally, it absolutely transformed the appearance of my Empeg. What was starting to looked dated now looks as moderen as anything else I have.

The look is so good that I went ahead and bought sets for every player that I have (except the spare players I'm selling in the For Sale section).

If you have not done the button conversion I suggest you do. I'm specifically referring to Black buttons, at $17 a set you will not be sorry.

Thank you Greenlights for a great product and quick delivery!

Hummm $18 or a flat black can of paint.

What the hell, you can't take it with you.

Edit: Or 5 gallons of gas

The can-of-paint solution was specifically mentioned by an Empeg high-muckety-muck, as not being a good idea, due to the very tight tolerances between the buttons and fascia. Adding a layer of paint could likely cause problems with buttons sticking. edit: Or maybe my memory misleads me -- the only thing I can find in a search is schofiel suggesting to paint buttons.

Me? I like the original buttons -- they match all the other knobs in my truck...

The kind of plastic that the buttons are made out of, the paint would rub off of the buttons fairly quickly with normal use.

Thanks guys. I had just swapped in Stealth Buttons myself (though still with a loud Amber screen).

Painted buttons may get sticky and nasty, hurting the irreplaceable fascia. But dyed buttons............... I keep meaning to get to that experiment..... stay tuned.

Thanks for letting us know. I just ordered a set. I agree it looks more modern with black. Wish the buttons were a little flatter black, but its ok. I'm looking forward to the brushed metal buttons if they ever make them.
