Has anyone here repaired the LCD on their digital camera before? I figure if I can find a cheap original lcd for it, I would try to repair it.

I was unsuccessful with my Canon, but successful with my Panasonic. Others have weighed in with similar stories here.

In the case of the Canon, I was simply "out" the price of the LCD assembly, had spent many many hours trying to get it to work, and yet still needed to buy a new camera.

What's wrong with it? If just scratches, then the plastic LCD cover for many cameras can be bought cheaply from the maker's service centres, and replaced in minutes by anyone competent with a suction cup.

Why am I picturing a Mythbusters episode, and they've got some kind of a suction meter?

Patrick fixes them on a regular basis - I would suggest you ask him for advice.
