As a follow-up to the "who has the lowest empeg number" thread, please could those of you who have received your empeg say what number you have..
This will allow us to track how far through the list empeg have got.

I haven't received mine yet, just got my rego number of 9846, and I'm pretty excited about that.

The product looks great, and I don't even have a problem with it running Linux, cannot wait to show my work collegues.

You might work out that units serial numbers aren't actually related to your queue position - it depends on that batches of disk size, panel colour, etc that were made at what time. You can be sure that I've lovingly serial-numbered and checked each one, though ;)

What are the chances of having a counter on the web site somewhere, showing the latest registration number dealt with? Doesn't have to be updated every 3 seconds.. just something to give those us with high registration numbers a rough idea of how long we have to wait.

I'm number 4541 :(
I thought I had registered earlier, but either the connection died or I stuffed up my email address. Ah well, by time it's my turn the hdds will probably be cheaper :)

Just wondering...

How many people have gone for each of the different drive size / display colour options?

Hugo, how do you handle this? lots of bare chassis, just plug in a disk etc?

Another data point for those of you waiting for that "special" email message from empeg. I am number 330 on the waiting list and my unit was shipped today, I can't wait...

P.S. Does anyone know why my TNT tracking number doesn't work ? The number supplied is nine digits, but the TNT website tracker only accepts eight, odd.

Number 330 in the queue...

I overheard Rob saying something about leaving off the last digit. YMMV :-)

There are some issues with TNT online tracking that I wasn't aware of when I wrote the shipping notification system. The notification wording will be updated to reflect the following, apologies to those who have already been affected...

UK TRACKING - Miss off the last digit and it works fine
INTERNATIONAL - Enter only the numeric section of the tracking number

It seems that TNT tracking doesn't take effect until the shipment reaches the depot, unlike FedEx which takes effect as soon as the collection driver steps into his cab. In future I'll delay the notification email by a couple of hours to take this into account.

Luckily TNT appear not to have lost or delayed any shipments to date, so hopefully you won't have been too inconvenienced if you couldn't get the tracking to work.

Hmmm, I've tried the number, chopping bits off the number, both Uk and International forms and nothing is found...
I tried the telephone tracker, nada...
It's been a few days, so it must have been to the depot by now?

Ok it's arrived.. =)
The problem with the tracking number, is that a 3 had been chopped off the end.. (Rob?)
Now it's arrived, and I have the full number, the tracking history works..
(Not much use, now that it's arrived =)

It's Here!!! Just let me tell you how much ass FedEx kicks. They got my unit at 6:00pm UK time yesterday, and I picked it up at 12:00pm Pacific Time today. So if you are in a major US city you shouldn't have to wait too long to get your new toy.

I was Registered as 451 and I got unit #55 (Blue 4Gig)

Let me know if you are near San Diego and you want to come see it. It won't be installed in my Jeep for awhile, but it'll soon be packed with music.

I concur!!

I'm really hyped about getting my hands on one of these units but i'm... don't laugh, number 9842. The problem is (other than the large reg. #), I have no idea if this means I'll be getting the thing 6 weeks, 6 months, or 2 years from now. The anticipation and uncertainty is killing me. I check the website on a daily basis. My eating and sleeping (not to mention working, after all when do you think I check your website and discussion board) habits have been severely disrupted. Help me!!!

If you could just put a counter up, or at least an unofficial, informal rough estimate of shipment timeframe based on registration # I'd be able to regain a semblence of order in my life.

I don't know how I lucked on to the empeg site so early but I'm not complaining.... They shipping it Wednesday night, it arrived here in San Jose on Thursday morning. It took me seven hour to get it out of the clutches of the mail room..... - Talk about agony!

If anyone in the San Jose area wants to see it in action (not in the car) next week drop me a note and we can make arrangements. I'll probably have the car install done by the first week of September. I'm looking forward to it.

Cheers,

=-C

Some stastical speculation on the number of units left... If they are shipping about 60 units per five-hundred registrations then that would leave a number in the 4500 range. They did make 500 units in the first run - correct?

Hmm, I'm customer 396 and I got serial number 49. I guess it's not going in order.
