Ive seen this post here But I don't need to extend it that much.
I also found this here Which is about the length i'd need.
Does anyone know what i'd need to just extend the display about a foot?

Well, probably about a foot or so of 12 conductor ribbon cable, a 12-pin header to replace the soldered-on connection at the display end, and a 12-pin crimp-on ribbon connector for each end of the cable.

Digikey has all of that stuff.

Cheers

Thanks,do you know what is the safest length I could go without needing an extender board?

No, I don't. But that is probably very very close to it already.

I might be persuaded to make one last run. Let me see what the parts cost right now.

Judging from this picture it looks like the original cable plugs into this pcb connector and then extends the cable about another foot. There doesn't appear to be any components on the board other than the 2 female connectors.
Stu,would you be able to make a cable about 20 inches long without needing the extender boards or is that to long.
Do you know what the max lenght is without needing the extender board?
I don't really need to go 10 feet but only about 20 inches.

I believe the kit I installed was that exact one, and it only added perhaps 8" or so to the length. The coupler board is indeed completely passive -- just a couple of connectors.

I'm waiting to hear from Patrick regarding the 8-way filters.
