You've misspelled "mahogany".

Also, it should be "lying on its back", not "laying".

Hm, I made an order, but somehow missed how to indicate I wanted
the nickel snap closure...

Just email her, she'll take care of it.

I don't know how the paypal "add to cart" button works on her site. I don't know if there's a field for putting in extra text for making requests like that. But email works, too.

Yes, she should theoretically be on email while out of town. She's just not in her leather workshop. smile

Very nice!!! My discretionary account is currently empty, but I'll still find a way to get one.

A question:
"Nickel+Black snap closure" Does that mean one connector in the pair is nickel while the other is black? How does "nickel+black" and plain black look against the tan leather?

Don't forget to list these on eBay. There's an oddly untapped empeg market there; somehow eBay is the only way to reach them.

Thanks for bringing this to life!

Ebay is a good idea.

The nickel+black clasp is hard to describe here, but yes, essentially the outer shell part is nickel and the pointy bit that inserts into the shell is black. I'll suggest that Susan put up some photos of the alternate clasps and hardware as soon as she can.

She's received her first order (Julf) and will continue working on it after she gets back from the trip on Wednesday or Thursday. I believe that after working it out with him in email, she may be doing brass hardware and a different style of clasp for him, if I recall correctly. So by the time she updates the page, she might have more hardware options that go with the tan/brown leather styles even better.

I've been using the prototype shown in the pictures for a couple of weeks now and it works great and I'm very happy with it.

Indeed. Plastic just looks wrong in a Morgan or Bristol smile

Susan's back in town, is working on Julf's order, and is ready to take more orders. If you have any questions, feel free to email her from the link on her web site.

Susan has finished Julf's bag and put some photos up at her site. (Julf: She plans to ship it either today or tomorrow.) Ready to make more!

On the suggestion of someone in this thread, she's also made an Ebay page for these bags in general.

These bags are truly excellent, I think they're the perfect compromise between the zero-padding nylon case, and a heavily-padded case like a Pelican.

Good move on the eBay page. But ouch, paying listing fees on a $160 item is a drag. Maybe more cost effective to start an eBay store and list a few up there (clearly noting in the ad that they are custom and can be built to suit). The ad would run forever (right?) and be found by searches, but would have a higher final value fee. With enough well places links back to her site, that fee wouldn't be an issue. wink

I need to scrape together some cash to get the light tan one with brass hardware. People in and around my office are so used to seeing me with the huge gray Pelican case; a nice leather one would be a good change.
