So I'm thinking of getting an iphone but I was wondering if its feasible to interface it into empeg aux. Best case scenario I can get a small case to hold the iphone and some sort of bluetooth receiver that relays all the audio to stereo output somehow to hook into the empeg. Is this possible? Does anybody know any hardware that might be exactly what I'm looking for? Also, is there any pictures people might have of this exact same setup? Thanks in advance!

You could achieve it with something like this plugged into the empeg aux connection:

It isn't exactly designed for in car use, though I do note that it is uses a 12V power adapter.

Edit: just realised that it is aimed at the iPod Classic rather than the iPhone/iPod Touch.

This is more what I was looking for:

The only problem is knowing whether the iPhone's limited BlueTooth profiles work with it (that and working out how to power it in the car).

iPhone bluetooth doesn't support A2DP which is required for any sort of decent high fidelity stereo sound.

The headphone output should be able to drive the line in on the empeg directly although it's technically not the right thing to do in terms of input and output impedances.

And using the iPhone's stereo headphone plug is not an option because... ?

I just got this today. It supports iPhone 3G (2.0) and it charges and sends music from the connector and not from the headphone plug.

Kensington LiquidAux

iPhone Custom Vent Mount

See images here (bottom of the page):

It's not connected to the empeg, but to the minijack in my car. I guess it's the same thing, really.
