Once upon a time, During a web search, I seem to remember stumbling over a text only version of the bbs. The url was slightly different - does that still exist?

Text only? Am I totally missing the 3D real time rendered empegbbs with animated avatars?

Are you thinking of empeg.merlins.org, a MailMan list which distributed repackaged forum content (from the old empeg.comms.net). I used to see those flat text versions of the forum on Google results all the time. It was always surprising to see recent posts in that flat text format.

Currently, Google only gives me flat .TXT monthly archives from that site. They used to be in MailMan archive format like this from the mars.org MailMan list.

Is this what you had in mind?
