vista keeps telling me i need a driver for vista to communicate with the empeg. empeg is a mk2a. where do i find the driver for this?

How do you have it connected?

usb. i am trying to set it up for my friend on vista and have never had a driver problem on xp.

I'm currently editing the title of that FAQ entry so that it no longer specifies "Windows XP".

Note that the USB driver will not work on Vista x64. I looked into rewriting it, but was put off by the cost of a driver signing key. Obviously, it won't work on Windows 2003 x64 or Windows XP x64, either, but not many people have those systems. Ethernet is the way forward (unless you have a mk1, in which case, keep a Windows XP x86 system hanging around for it, or investigate a Linux-based solution).

So how far were you with that x64 driver? I would be happy to try it with my mk1, using readydriver to turn of whql checking anyway: http://citadel.x10hosting.com/readydriverplus/
Not in a hurry though, still have xp installed on my macbook, and mediaportal-server.

In fairness, not that far. I really need to take a sabbatical and get some (or at least one) personal projects finished.

Tony, could you update the FAQ to include what versions of windows the usb driver should be expected to, or not to, work with?

That much is in the release notes.

Of course Vista, and its x64 variant, didn't exist when the release notes were written, so I should probably fix up that at least.
